When: 18 Jun 2021
This summer, after 18 months of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions, we were finally able to take our members on day trips again. Our members have always greatly enjoyed these day trips, but the anticipation for some fun was never so great than during lockdown!
We started with a beautiful day in garden party in Wicklow, where we hosted a friendly best hat competition for the members, followed by a trip to Wexford some sightseeing and shopping. We finished off our little ‘day trip series’ with trips to Kilkenny and Athlone, where we had a nice day out on a river cruise.
These day trips are more than just a day out for our members. They look forward to and prepare for these outings for weeks in advance, and they keep telling stories from the trips for weeks after too. Most importantly, going on these trips again was our own little taste of the ‘return to normal’, which our members absolutely cherished.
