Friends of the Elderly Ireland pledges to treat all donors with respect, honesty and openness. We commit to being accountable and transparent so that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in us. We assure our donors that we will apply their gifts to us for their intended purposes.
As our donors and prospective donors, we commit that you will:
- Be informed of the charity’s mission and of the way the charity intends to use donated resources.
- Be informed of the identity of those serving on the Board of Directors and that the Board will exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- Have access to the charity’s audited financial statements as they are published.
- Receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers to questions you might have about the charity.
- Be assured your donations will be used for the purposes for which they were given, whether donated for a specific purpose or to further our charitable mission.
- Receive timely and appropriate acknowledgement and recognition of your donation.
- Be assured that information about your donation is handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- Have the opportunity for any names or other information given by you to be deleted from our mailing lists. Our mailing lists are not shared with third parties.
- Expect that all relationships with individuals representing the charity will be dealt with professionally.
- Be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the charity or hired third-party agents.
- Be able to easily access the agreed procedures for making and responding to complaints.
- Be informed should any percentage of your donation not go directly to the charity, for example, third
-party fees.
