CSPE Action Project
Young Friends of the Elderly
The Young Friends of the Elderly CSPE Programme encourages students to engage with older adults, fostering greater awareness and understanding of the challenges they face. Through structured action projects, students develop respect, empathy, and a sense of community.
Key CSPE concepts such as Human Dignity, Rights, and Responsibilities are central when exploring the work of Friends of the Elderly for an Action Project. We aim to build partnerships with educators to seamlessly integrate intergenerational learning into classroom activities, supporting the CSPE curriculum and its learning objectives.
To assist teachers, Friends of the Elderly has developed a resource pack filled with activities designed to promote intergenerational learning. We also provide various forms of support, including talks for students about our work, and PowerPoint presentations for schools outside Dublin.
On completing the programme, participants will receive Certificates of Merit, presented by our Ambassador, Ronnie Delany.
