Our Home Visitation program provides much-needed companionship to older adults who may feel lonely or isolated. Through regular visits, our dedicated volunteers spend quality time with individuals in their own homes, offering friendship, conversation, and emotional support. These visits help foster meaningful connections and create a sense of community, ensuring that no one has to face the challenges of aging alone. At Friends of the Elderly, we believe that small acts of kindness, like a friendly visit, can make a big difference.
Our Friendly Call service offers regular phone calls to older adults who may feel isolated or lonely. Through these scheduled calls, our volunteers provide a listening ear, friendly conversation, and emotional support, helping to brighten someone’s day and remind them that they are not alone. These simple but meaningful connections make a real difference, offering comfort, companionship, and a sense of community. At Friends of the Elderly, the Friendly Call service is a vital part of how we support and care for older individuals as part of our staying connected programme.
Our social clubs and events provide older adults with the opportunity to stay active, engaged, and connected. Through coffee mornings, social clubs, technology clubs, yoga, bingo and many other activities we offer the opportunity to meet people in your community. At Friends of the Elderly, we believe that social connections are essential for well-being, and our clubs and events are at the heart of building those lasting relationships.
Our outings, day trips, and holidays give older adults the chance to explore new places, enjoy a change of scenery, and make lasting memories. Whether it’s a local day trip or a longer holiday, these experiences provide fun, relaxation, and the opportunity to socialise with others. At Friends of the Elderly, we believe that everyone deserves to enjoy life’s pleasures, and our trips are designed to bring joy, excitement, and connection to those we support.
Our Hamper Programme spreads warmth and care to older people who may be feeling isolated or in need of a little extra support. Each hamper is carefully prepared with thoughtful items, from food and treats to hygiene essentials to brighten someone’s day. Delivered by our dedicated volunteers, these hampers not only provide practical help but also remind recipients that they are valued and remembered. At Friends of the Elderly, the Hamper Programme is one of the many ways we show kindness and build connections in our community.
