Young Social Innovators (YSI) support:
Students in Transition Year who are considering entering the Young Social Innovators competition may benefit particularly if the topic they choose is around bridging the gap between young and old and developing intergenerational projects. This project will give a student an opportunity to understand their own attitudes about growing older, to develop new communication skills that can be used all through your life, and finally, to develop linkages across generations within families and their communities. The YSI project could aim to build a community for all ages where everyone belongs and everyone benefits. Choosing Friends of the Elderly and developing an Intergenerational community can promote greater understanding and respect between these generations and can contribute to building stronger communities.
If you and your class are interested in any participating in our Young Friends of the Elderly Schools activities please contact info@friendsoftheelderly.ie
